Carla Franke Psychotherapy
Exploring the space in between

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and counselling provides the opportunity for you to discuss concerns or difficulties which may be getting in the way of leading a full life. It can also be used to discuss feelings which may have been buried but have now surfaced for various reasons. Or for those who want to address specific issues, improve their quality of life, or enhance their overall mental and emotional well-being.

Location
I hold sesions in a room in Waterloo and in New Malden. Some clients choose to see me via video call (Zoom).
We can also use the outdoors. Walking and talking can sometimes be an easier way to work through what is bothering you. Although we are in an open space, I am always considering confidentiality and your safety. We will discuss a meeting location at a local park and our walks will take place in all weather.

Time-limited (12 sessions)
Sessions
Open- ended therapy is suited for adults who want to work on present problems which may be interrupting life and causing pain. We will be able to think about current and previous life experiences and relationships.
The short-term therapeutic model is intended to work on a specific presenting issue. We will work on a current concern for (up to) 12 sessions. This model works well with clients who need to accommodate irregular work-shift patterns.

About
I provide a structured, supportive and safe environment where individuals can talk confidentially and freely. This may lead to greater self awareness and insight, allowing you the possibility of making different choices in your life. Together we draw links to previous experiences which may have profoundly affected you. Our work will be gentle but challenging. An initial consultation is necessary and will give us a chance to meet and think about a way forward.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked with organisations and charities to provide therapy to clients with a range of complex needs. This has included working with the London Ambulance Service, WPF Therapy, UCL, Relate and St Mungo’s, seeing first responders, trainee therapists, students, couples, families and people experiencing homelessness.
